Lobbying group, the LACS, has launched a new campaign aimed at banning Piñata. The game which is Spanish in origin, invites children and grown-ups to attempt to hit a suspended straw donkey with a stick whilst blindfold. Long a favourite with partygoers, the LACS claims that the activity keeps alive what it describes as “a dangerous appetite for the real thing”. LACS spokesperson, Poppy Wasp told “It is a very small step from hitting a toy donkey to flinging one from the bell tower of a church. We are not spoilsports and are suggesting that instead of using a straw animal, it be replaced with, say, a model of Russell Brand or Diane Abbot”
