We are pleased to be able to offer this very rare 12 Bore Beretta 687 Special Edition over and under fixed choke shotgun. Used as the proof gun at the 1984 Broadlands Game Fair, this gun was used on the Beretta stand as an exhibition piece and the engraving was finished at the show by hand for potential customers to express an interest in ordering one of the limited number of 27 that were produced for that year. Dark well figured oil finished pistol grip stock fitted with the original Beretta ebonite factory heel plate, the stock is accompanied by a slim matching beaver tail style forend with a blued scroll engraved release catch. The left hand side of the action has been hand engraved with a waterfowl scene showing several ducks landing ona pond, the right hand side of the action has been engraved with a covey of English partridge in full flight. The show stopper of this piece is the underside of the action which has been engraved with an iconic New Forest Fallow Buck along with the words Broadlands 1984 and 27th Game Fair. The 27th Game Fair was held at the Broadlands estate in the Heart of the New Forest close to the town of Romsey. We have paperwork supporting this gun as the proof gun from the show and it is also numbered 0/0! We sold the gun new to the previous owner in May 1985, (it came to us from Gunmark in October 1984.)
