A good example of a WW1 era French Berthier carbine It has matching numbers & its original leather sling The action is a Mannlicher design where the stripper clip is loaded complete with 5 rounds into the top of the magazine box & is ejected from the bottom of the action when the 5th round is chambered, in a similar way to the Dutch Mannlicher The bolt is captive in the action in the same way as the Mauser 1871 single shot rifle It has its original walnut stock & upper handguard Very rare.
