THIS HAS A 15 (?) SHOT CAPACITY MAGAZINE SO IS SECTION ONE FIREARM CERTIFICATED.
The 25” barrel is actually originally (or a VERY long time ago) stamped to take shot OR .22 LR. Even though it is smooth bored. I assume it was actually made this way as opposed to having been a rifled barrel originally and then bored smooth as when you push a cleaning brush through it remains tight all the way. OK with a bullet the accuracy past maybe 30 or 40 yards is not going to be massively accurate but in reality this is NOT the gun for that. It IS THE ULTIMATE small vermin / rodent gun for inside and around buildings to take care of rats and even roosting pigeons in barns etc. With .22 shot shell cartridges loaded with dust shot you can even shoot at old pan tile roofs (at a reasonable distance) and do no damage. The stock has a 13 ¼” pull and the tubular magazine holds 15 rounds at least so PLENTY of shooting before having to load up again. Original BSA Piled Arms Logo’s to the action, barrel and stock and the safety is on the rear of the bolt with a ‘pull and twist’ operation to engage or release.
CERTAINLY an unusual little piece these days!
