Beretta 12 gauge SO3 EELL (Special Edition Grouse )

Description

A fantastic opportunity to acquire a rare right handed 12 bore Beretta S03 EELL ' Special Edition Grouse ' gun being Number 9 of only 10 ever produced.

Built in 1987 it exhibits a lovely 15 1 / 4" oil finished walnut stock with rounded pistol grip and crisp chequering. The 28" barrels are choked 1/4 and 1/2 ,with a tapered game rib and 2 3/4" chambers.

The action is decorated with stunning engravings of grouse on the moors and in flight, signed by ' Bottega C Giovanelli ' one of Italy's master engravers. Intricate scrollwork adorns the remaining furniture with gold trigger and top lever crown.

Early Beretta sidelock guns of this era were noted for their build quality and reliability. A thorough examination recently by professional gunsmiths including a strip and clean, re blacking of barrels, re checquering of woodwork etc shows the gun to be in pristine condition today. In its time the ' Special Edition Grouse ' was often showcased in shooting magazines as one of Beretta's best guns.

While the gun is quite capable of being used to shoot clays, partridge and pheasant it really comes into its own on grouse. A relatively light fast weapon it is a joy to use and extremely effective in the field.

These guns are held in high regard and rarely, if ever come to market. When viewed in comparison to the more modern S06 EELL sidelock costing up to twice as much they appear to offer exceptional value.
