Description

BROWNING TWELVETTE 12G SEMI AUTOMATIC 2 SHOT SHOTGUN.

2 Shot Semi-Automatic Browning Twelvette 12g Shotgun in generally Excellent condition throughout.

27 ½” (700mm) None ribbed Fixed Full choke barrel. However it DOES have a sighting line machined direct to the top running from the same feature on the action. All leading to the single ramp mounted front brass sight bead. The barrel is also fully stamped with Browning Arms Company. St Louis MoB Montreal P.Q. on one side. Special steel – 12G Shells – 2 ¾” below. To the other Browning Patented with Made in Belgium below.

14 ½” (367mm) Stock Pull finishes the gun at an overall length of 47 ½” (1195mm). Weight tips in at 7 Lbs 2 ½ oz (3.244 Kg).

Somewhat quirky

These are manufactured to only fire 2 shots before reloading. Given this has not just been tucked away in a cabinet and age it is still in excellent condition. The last two of these I had in stock were both GRABBED by the same man. Something of collection pieces they are only set to get even harder to find. The beauty is you can and SHOULD still use things like this and enjoy owning a piece of Browning history. Only ever going to become even more collectable.

Light Grey Nitrite like finish to the Action which features Fine Border Line Engraving to each side. Central matching Scroll Work Vignettes too. Safety is the small Roller Catch mounted to the back of the trigger guard.

A Nicely Figured Walnut Stock with Rounded Prince of Wales Pistol Grip with inch recoil pad. The Forend thankfully 100% undamaged too. Far too often they have small splits / bits missing / damage. People disengage the rear latch and simply try and lever and pull them off. There IS a front cross pin that needs pushing out to allow removal.

I consider these an EXCELLENT investment for the future for not a lot of money. Also something you can still use every day and enjoy. Take reasonable care and probably see your money back and more 10 years from now.

NO. NOT STEEL SH-T PROOF BUT DO PLEASE READ ON:
THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET. YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons. RING for an update and keep checking the web site.
