WESTLEY RICHARDS 12G SIDE BY SIDE 916 GRADE BOXLOCK NONE EJECTOR. 12G Side by Side Boxlock None Ejector shotgun from Westley Richards. Never easy to find in any specification. This is a none ejector and I KNOW that ‘bucks the modern day trend’ HOWEVER I will once again ask WHY? A NONE ejector is by far the best option for most people shooting. Most of the time most shooters actually block the spent cartridges from flying out when they use a gun fitted with them and then pull the empty cases out of the chambers to make disposing of them a lot easier than having to bend over and search the undergrowth….. that is generally cold, wet and muddy! As always superb quality from this well respected and top end manufacturer the gun comes with nice 30” (762mm) barrels with fixed cylinder and full chokes. I assume standard English game chambers of 2 ½” (65mm). There are no details at all to the chamber flats rather the proof marks and spec. are all stamped direct on the bottom of the barrels, just in front! It also details Westley Special Steel stamped around a triangle. The English Walnut stock has a good strong and straight grain pattern with good contrast, a rounded Prince of Wales pistol grip, the original Westley Richards hard plastic butt plate and measures up to 14 ¾”. With a cross bolt triple lock action retaining approx. 70%+ of the original colour case hardening this is still quite a pretty gun. Auto safety (as you would expect on a game gun) and a horn tipped forend finish the detail If you want a TRUE classic HIGH END ENGLISH gun at a budget price this IS worth consideration. It should / will give many years of faultless service too. £399.99 As for the Lead Sh-t ‘FIASCO’? READ ON: THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth? Anyway, take a look for yourself: https://www.hortonguns.com/?page_id=819 NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET. YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond! On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons. RING for an update and keep checking the web site. FOR (AS UP TO DATE AS POSSIBLE!) STOCK DETAILS CHECK OUT OUR OWN WEBSITE DIRECT. THERE ARE A LOT MORE GUNS LISTED THERE IN ALL CATEGORIES as well as MANY other hard to find items for all areas of shooting and what we don’t have we can try to source: https://www.emma-rifles.co.uk
