Description

MIROKU 12G MODEL 800 SKEET OVER AND UNDER SHOTGUN.

Over and Under 12g Miroku Model 800 Dedicated Skeet Discipline Shotgun. That said it WILL work perfectly well for any other shooting  including Game.

NO NOT steel SH-T proof but DO READ ON / check out the link:

THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

Anyway, take a look for yourself:

To TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.

YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!

On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.                                                     RING for an update and keep checking the web site.

NOW BACK TO THE GUN:

Compact 26” (660mm) Barrels with Fixed Chokes. Detailed with + - to the top barrel and + + to the bottom so basically tight cylinder and loose ¼ restrictions at best / worst. In reality very little actual difference with shot pattern at a set 30 yards or any other distance. 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers which ARE more than adequate for any realistic shooting. Especially with modern day cartridge options. Solid Jointing and Ventilated Top Rib with double sighting beads fitted. Smaller white mid bead with matching colour larger front.

14” (355mm) Strong Straight Grained Stock that does have some Nice Gross Pattern Highlights. The original varnish finish actually does little to enhance what COULD be quite a bonny stock. Stripped back and re-finished with a decent stock oil will transform this. Tear Drop features to each face suggest this is a higher grade option. It is generally only Limited Edition Grade 3 or Grade 5 guns that come with these. They are a LOT more time consuming to make.

Overall the gun finishes at 42 7/8” (1090mm) and weighs in at 7 Lbs 7 oz (3.37 Kg).

Bright finished Action Profusely Engraved all the way around. Chequering still clean enough, especially considering what age this gun will be. Even so still PLENTY of Great Shooting opportunity still there with this gun.

One UNUSUAL feature on a Miroku is the Removable Stricker Discs to the Action Face. I do not recall ever noticing this feature on other guns. Equally I may just not have been as observant as perhaps should have been. OR could be a standard feature on dedicated Skeet guns.
