Description

A great example of a .310 Cadet rifle made by BSA in 1911 and shipped to Australia, loved by shooters and collectors alike these rifles are increasing rare and sought after nowadays.

The rifle is fully stocked with a 24.5 inch barrel and adjustable sights, in lovely condition for it's age the rifle is stamped with a kangaroo on the top and usual proof house markings, also stamped "310 12 - 120" showing the rifle is .310 calibre, using 12 grains of black powder and a 120 grain bullet. The rifle is a martini action with a visible lever that protrudes when cocked. BSA trade marks, the bore is shiny and has been deep cleaned by a professional gunsmith.

Original armourers marking on the stock "9/11 CMF SA 1210" showing this as being issued September 1911 to the Citizen Military Forces in South Australia. These rifles were used to train cadets and were later issued to troops when Australia came under threat in WW2.

After the war a number of examples came back to the UK and are now designated Section 58, classed as an antique and can be owned without a certificate.

Rifle comes with a period correct leather sling and x30 empty cartridge cases sized for .310 Cadet.
