Description

The Martini–Henry is a breech-loading single-shot rifle with a lever action that was used by the British Army. It first entered service in 1871, eventually replacing the Snider–Enfield, a muzzle-loader converted to the cartridge system. Martini–Henry variants were used throughout the British Empire for 47 years.

Built in 1874 this Martini Henry has the Mk2 short cocking lever thumb cut out on the action and stamped S-X on the top of the action which indicates that it has been fitted with a new heavier strengthened extractor. The forend has been replaced and is missing the cleaning rod cut out.

This rifle is cambered in an obsolete calibre according to section 58 of the firearms act, no licence is required to purchase and possess this rifle.
