Back in the 1990's, Beretta realised that they were losing out to some of the cheaper, more budget end shotguns of the day. In response to this, they created a no thrills "entry level" shotgun that had the same action as their 680 series but with no engraving on the matt black action other than their name. that gun was the 686 Essential and here we have a very good example of that gun! It is multi-choked, has no side ribs on the matt black barrels and is 3" Magnum proofed and is a true all-rounder. Some might say that it even has better figured woodwork than the modern crop of Silver Pigeons, too!
