Westley Richards 16 gauge BLNE Damascus Barrels (Anson & Deeley Action)

Description

A lovely and rare thing. This is a 16ga Westley Richards built on the Anson & Deeley 1875 patent 'single-bite' action which has been nicely engraved by the renowned Birmingham maker. The gun is a boxlock non-ejector but still has a lot of life left to give.

Dated to 1883, the gun was made for a (Peter) Audley Lovell Esq. of Cole Park, Malmesbury who was a captain in the Coldstream Guards. His name is still displayed on the fine case that has obviously stayed with the gun throughout its life.
