Record 2017 figures likely to be beaten in 2018

Data covering the performance of gun sales portal, www.guntrader.uk, in the year to the end of December 2017 has revealed that over the 12 months’ period, visitors sent almost 41,000 emails to shooting retailers making enquiries about products advertised on the site. The figures further highlight guntrader.uk’s dominant position in the UK marketplace for shotgun and rifle sales. Speaking to Guntrader News, founder and owner, Alexander Andover said: “Since the beginning of last year we have been monitoring the numbers of not just emails sent but also telephone calls made to retailers – or at least the number of times visitors have clicked to obtain a retailer’s telephone details. If seeking this information is a precursor to a call being made – and why wouldn’t it be? then last year visitors to the website made around 134,000 telephone calls to our advertisers. I think that underlines the site’s pre-eminent standing and why currently more than 280 retailers advertise their stock on it”.

At the beginning of 2017 guntrader.uk announced a plan to boost the number of visits to the
website to a new high of 450,000. Latest data confirms that this target was easily beaten with a
confirmed monthly average of 473,000 visits. Confirming the 34% rise in traffic to the site
Andover commented: “I am very pleased by this. Last year we refocused our marketing effort,
by following the widespread trend in the industry we more less cut all consumer magazine
advertising, re-orientating the strategy toward twin approach of mobilising social media and seeking
out partnerships with key shooting businesses and organisations. Although the latter is still its early
days, the work we have done to mobilise Facebook, Twitter and Instagram allied to the regular blogs, has
proved spectacularly successful”.
