Customer Reviews

Catherine comments –

As someone who has purchased a gun from Barbury, how would you describe their service and knowledge during the process?

As a regular customer at Barbury, I can only describe the service as beyond excellent.  The suggestion of a Syren Julia was made by gunroom Manager, Craig Hartley whose empathy and understanding of the challenges I had with a previous Beretta resulted in me finally being paired with the perfect shotgun.

What do you like about what the shooting ground offers you as a shooter?

Barbury Shooting Ground offers something for everyone, the school area for those just setting out, and for the experienced shots there are plenty of stands and layouts for those aspiring to further their shooting capabilities.  The grounds are very well maintained, I must also mention the clubhouse that I imagine some grounds must only dream of, and amongst the entirety of it all, the staff that are always so warm and welcoming.

What’s your favourite thing about the ground as a whole?

My Favourite thing about the Ground?  Well, there are 2.  Firstly, my coach Huw Stephens, who has taught me completely from scratch to a stage where I can compete this Spring.   As well as the gun room team who make each visit an absolute pleasure as well as doing a fabulous job of ensuring my Julia is always in the very best condition.

If you could encourage someone to visit the shooting ground for a shoot, how would you do this?

How would I get someone to visit the shooting ground?  Invite them to come shooting with me on a Saturday of course!

Melissa Comments –

The guys in the shop are absolutely brilliant with how they pair you with a gun to suit you! I haven’t bought a gun from them as I don’t have a license, but they never fail to make sure the right gun fits me in size and weight.

The grounds… well what can I say the layouts on each peg give a variety of challenges – as well as some beautiful scenery! Also, the cafe has an amazing menu – I recommend the blue cheeseburger 👌🏼

The ground itself is in a beautiful location with truly incredible views of the great British countryside! The staff there are so attentive to the shooter when having those 1 on 1 lesson, noticing the little adjustments that make the lessons all the more worthwhile.

If you haven’t been to the Barbury Shooting School you must go even if it’s to tick it off the list, the experience as a whole is one that I can’t recommend enough! All your senses are triggered by the beautiful views, the sound of the guns going and clays powdering, the feel of the cartridges in your pocket, the smell in the air after the gun has been shot and the taste of that oh-so-juicy burger to finish it all off! What isn’t there to love?

Simon Comments –

The team at Barbury Gun Room are fantastic. I have purchased several shotguns from them since they opened as well as various shooting accessories and each time it is an effortless experience. Their knowledge is amazing, and the service is better than any other gun room I have been to.

Philip Montague @montyshoots comments –

Barbury’s owner and staff have created a ground that is accessible to all, with regularly changing targets, a strong variety of layouts, a first-class locally sourced burger, and a stellar iced latte. The gunroom team are knowledgeable, ever accommodating, and the stock is sensibly priced. The team in the clubhouse have been consistently bright, cheerful, and attentive. They deserve the accolades and attention they’ve received, I’ve seen some of the creativity and work that’s gone into it, and I wish them success and good fortune for the future.
